The Camp is 45 miles south of San Pedro Sula on beautiful Lake Yojoa. San Pedro Sula is the industrial capital of Honduras while Tegucigalpa, 3 hours south of the camp, is the capital city. Lake Yojoa is about 40 square miles and our property comes with a breath taking view!
No! We are excited to be able to host a variety of groups including weddings! We have great connections with several local churches that will volunteer throughout the year so children can come to the camp year-round.
There are a few poisonous snakes in Honduras, just like in North America. At the camp, we see sloths, squirrels, iguanas, toucans, macaws, frogs, several species of parrots and other birds. Sometimes even a monkey! There are no man-eating crocodiles.
Randy and Kandie Herring moved to Honduras in 2000 to work for another missionaries. After two years they felt the call of God to start a youth camp. Honduras has only a few places for retreats, outdoor Christian events, and youth camps. In 2002 they were able to purchase 200 acres of wonderful possibilities.
