Esther's House

A house of Hope

A place of safety for rescued women trapped in violent homes, brothels or red-light districts of San Pedro Sula, Honduras. A safe refuge that will provide a holistic environment in which the victim’s physical, emotional and spiritual needs are met. Rescued girls can be young as 12 years old and encouraged by their families to work on the streets to make money just to survive. Women in the restoration process are provided with alternate income generation opportunities, as well as, serving in places for discipleship and spiritual development. After their recovery process shows evident signs of improvement and stability, through referrals and recommendations, women can be placed into the work environment to be self-sustaining.

Rescue

“…And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
– Micah 6:8

To start the healing process, we need to understand the need and have a heart to do something about the problem. We can walk into darkness and lead people to the light, but they need a practical place to continue their healing journey. Esther’s House is a safe refuge for women and girls coming out of the oppression of abuse and trafficking. Through relationship, we meet the women or girls where they are at with practical needs. We then offer them the hope that Jesus offers all of us.

Rejoice

“…weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.”
– Psalm 30:5

What these women and girls have experienced can leave life-long scars. Through the hope and healing of Jesus, we will see new life and the ability to walk in freedom. We celebrate every step of the process, knowing that the One who began the work is faithful to complete it.

Restore

“Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, … the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.”
– Isaiah 53:4-5

The recover process takes time. Esther’s House offers a peaceful environment along with counseling, personal development, spiritual growth and physical healing. This holistic approach allows the women to heal and redefine what their future can be.
